Waymo, a pioneer in autonomous driving technology, has officially announced its plans to bring its fully autonomous ride-hailing service to Dallas, Texas, starting in 2026.

This expansion marks a significant step for the company as it introduces its driverless technology to another major U.S. metropolitan area.

The announcement, made by Sawyer Merritt, highlights Dallas as an ideal location for Waymo's 24/7 autonomous ride-hailing service, citing the city's vibrant downtown and bustling metro area. Residents and visitors will be able to access Waymo's service directly through the Waymo app.

To manage its fleet and operations in Dallas, Waymo has established a new strategic, multi-year partnership with Avis Budget Group, a prominent global mobility solutions provider.

This collaboration is expected to streamline the logistical aspects of deploying and maintaining Waymo's autonomous vehicles in the city.

The move into Dallas signifies Waymo's continued commitment to expanding its reach and making autonomous transportation more accessible to the public.

The company's driverless technology aims to offer a safe, efficient, and convenient alternative for urban mobility.
