The Boring Company (TBC) announced today that its Vegas Loop system has achieved a remarkable near-perfect score of 99.51% in the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) BASE assessment for safety and security.

This outstanding result marks the highest score ever awarded to any transportation system, earning the Vegas Loop a prestigious Gold Standard Award for excellence.

The achievement underscores TBC's commitment to developing highly efficient and secure subterranean transportation solutions.

The BASE assessment, a rigorous evaluation conducted by the DHS, scrutinizes various aspects of a transportation system's safety protocols, operational security, and overall resilience.
A spokesperson for The Boring Company highlighted the benefits of their unique operational model, stating, "TBC takes advantage of full vertical integration in order to increase speed and reduce cost.

TBC designs the Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs), constructs the tunnels/stations, operates the TBMs to build the tunnels, and runs the resultant subsurface Loop transportation system."

This comprehensive approach, from design to operation, allows TBC to maintain strict control over all aspects of the system, contributing to its high safety and security standards.

The Vegas Loop, which currently connects various points beneath the Las Vegas Convention Center, offers a rapid and convenient method of transportation for visitors and convention-goers.

This latest accolade from the Department of Homeland Security further solidifies its reputation as a cutting-edge and reliable transit option.

The company's innovative use of tunneling technology and its focus on end-to-end control are proving to be key factors in its success and recognition.
