The news, initially hinted at by Apple CEO Tim Cook in December 2024, signifies Apple's growing investment in the Saudi Arabian market and its dedication to providing a personalized and accessible shopping experience.
"We're thrilled to bring Apple to even more customers around the world," stated Tim Cook, acknowledging the long-anticipated arrival. "The Apple Store online and Apple Store app both launch in Saudi Arabia today! Our teams are looking forward to deepening our connections with customers, and to bringing the best of Apple to help people across this country explore their passions, build their businesses, and take their ideas to the next level."
A Tailored Shopping Experience
The new online platforms are designed to provide Saudi customers with the most personalized shopping experience yet. Through the Apple Store online and the dedicated app, users can:
• Explore and shop Apple's complete range of products, from the latest iPhone models and Macs to iPads, Apple Watches, and accessories.
• Access configure-to-order options for Macs, allowing for custom specifications of chips, memory, and storage.
• Enjoy free engraving in both Arabic and English on select products, including AirPods, Apple Pencil, and AirTag, adding a unique personal touch.
• Receive personalized product recommendations tailored to their existing Apple devices.
• Benefit from live support via chat or phone with Apple Specialists trained to assist with product selection, device setup, data transfer, and mobile service activation.
• Utilize flexible payment options, including a "Buy Now, Pay Later" solution through a partnership with local platform Tamara, offering four-month installments at 0% interest.
• Take advantage of trade-in credit for eligible devices.
Expanding Retail Footprint and Localized Support
The launch of the online store and app is a foundational step in Apple's broader retail strategy for Saudi Arabia. While online first, Apple has confirmed plans to open several flagship Apple Store locations in the Kingdom starting in 2026. This includes an "iconic" store in Diriyah, a UNESCO World Heritage site, underscoring Apple's commitment to establishing a significant physical presence.
This expansion builds upon Apple's existing investments in the region, such as the Apple Developer Academy, which opened in Riyadh in 2021 in partnership with the Saudi government, Tuwaiq Academy, and Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. The introduction of direct Arabic language support across its retail channels further demonstrates Apple's dedication to serving the local community.
With next-day delivery promised for most orders and a seamless user experience, Apple is set to significantly enhance how customers in Saudi Arabia discover, purchase, and interact with its products and services. This move reinforces Apple's global expansion efforts, particularly in high-growth emerging markets, and solidifies its position as a leading technology provider in the Middle East.
