Liverpool FC has announced a series of permanent tributes in honor of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva, following their tragic passing.

The club expressed profound gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of support and thousands of physical tributes left by fans at Anfield.

In a consultation with Diogo's family, Liverpool FC will retire the number 20 shirt across all levels of the club, including LFC Women and the Academy, as a mark of respect and remembrance for Diogo.

The physical tributes, including flowers, scarves, artwork, and banners, which had created a poignant memorial at Anfield, have been carefully removed and stored.

Floral tributes will be composted and used in flower beds across all club sites, including Anfield, the AXA Training Centre, and AXA Melwood Training Centre.

The remaining artifacts will be recycled by a specialist company and incorporated into a permanent memorial sculpture, which will serve as a future focal point of remembrance at Anfield.

A temporary area of reflection has been established at Anfield for supporters to continue paying their respects.

To further honor Diogo, fans can have 'Diogo J. 20' printed on the back of their shirts in official club stores or via the official online store, with all profits directed to the LFC Foundation.

The Foundation has committed to creating a grassroots football program in Diogo's name.

Supporters will also have opportunities to pay their respects during all pre-season games, including the double-header against La Liga side Athletic Club at Anfield on August 4.

For the two pre-season games in Asia (Hong Kong and Tokyo), players' shirts will feature a specially designed patch displaying 'Diogo J. 20', and a floral tribute will be laid before kick-off.

Starting August 1 with the launch of LFC's new kits, players will wear a specially made 'Forever 20' emblem printed into their shirts and stadium jackets for the entire season.

The main commemoration, including a special fan mosaic and a minute of silence, is planned for the first Premier League game of the season against AFC Bournemouth at Anfield on Friday, August 15. Further details regarding this event will be shared with supporters soon.
